Mark Lamster is the architecture critic of the Dallas Morning News and the winner of the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Criticism. His new book, Welcome to Paradox City, is a first-of-its-kind history of Dallas told through the city’s most significant buildings, which takes readers to the sun-scorched origins of Dallas as a remote outpost on the Texas frontier, then traces the city’s development into the dynamic, if imperfect, metropolis we know today.
Thursday, September 24th, Mark Lamster will be joined by Nate Eudaly, Executive Director of the Dallas Architecture Forum, at the Nasher Sculpture Center for a conversation on Lamster’s book with a Q&A to follow. Copies of Welcome to Paradox City will be available to purchase during the event.
