Canstruction Dallas

CANstruction® Dallas

Hosted by: NorthPark Center  ║  Benefiting: North Texas Food Bank

Aug. 29-Sept. 13

CANstruction is an international nonprofit organization that holds annual design-build competitions across the U.S. to construct fantastic, giant sized, structures made out of canned food.  City wide competitions happen all over the world to help raise awareness of food insecurity and provide resources to local food banks.

In Dallas, design and AEC industry professionals create CAN ART® that displays at NorthPark Center. At the close of the competition, all of the food used to create the structures and the money raised in the People’s Choice voting are donated to North Texas Food Bank.

2026 will mark Dallas’ 29th Local Competition, as we continue to partner with North Texas Food Bank in their fight against hunger in North Texas.

This year’s showcase features 29 structures built around the theme “A League of UnCANny Villains,” with all cans and proceeds supporting North Texas Food Bank.

Villain-themed can-structures will take over the halls of NorthPark Center starting August 29, all in an effort to fight hunger across North Texas.

Known as CANstruction Dallas, the event will run August 29 through September 13 and feature 26 large‑scale structures inspired by the theme “A League of UnCANny Villains.” Each statue is crafted entirely from canned foods and other shelf‑stable items. Teams from local architecture, engineering, design, and construction firms transformed thousands of cans into eye‑catching works of art—demonstrating both technical skill and a shared commitment to helping neighbors facing hunger. The teams have been designing their structures for months and gathered early on the morning of August 29 to bring them to life during a five-hour build session.

“CANstruction continues to be one of the most creative and collaborative ways our community rallies around the North Texas Food Bank’s mission,” said Trisha Cunningham, President and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. “The generosity and ingenuity on display each year directly support our ability to provide nutritious meals to families across the region. We invite everyone to visit the exhibit and celebrate the teams who make this event possible.”
